I sit on the editorial boards of the Journal of Southern Africa Studies (JSAS) and Literature, Critique, and Empire Today (LCET). Between them, these roles partially encapsulate my interest in theory-informed regional research into world literatures from global economic peripheries.
JSAS promotes fieldwork-based academic work on Southern Africa related to the disciplines of history, economics, sociology, demography, social anthropology, geography, development studies, administration, law, political science, political economy, international relations, literature, cultural studies, and the natural sciences. LCET has distanced itself from the descriptor ‘Commonwealth’ but remains invested in the idea of literary postcolonialism. The journal publishes research that is shaped and driven by a commitment to excavating, exploring, and resisting the violence and damage wrought by imperialism and its afterlives.
