The Textual Worlds of South-Eastern Africa
The networking project titled ‘The Textual Worlds of South-Eastern Africa’ (TW), funded by UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council builds in several ways on my research into Zambian literature, and on the awareness this early research generated of the potential incongruities and misreadings in genre classifications that regulate the presence of African literatures on the world literary market. The TW research network comprises colleagues from the universities of Leeds, Rhodes, University of Southampton and University of The Witwatersrad. The AHRC grant was awarded in early 2020. Following a hiatus caused by the Covid pandemic, it was completed in early 2024.
